02

What you pay for in a traditional shoot

A product shoot is priced per image or per day. In the US, Shopify's 2026 pricing guide puts professional product photos at $50 to $350 an image, with photographers at $500 to $3,000 a day and rush fees of 25 to 200 percent on top. In Sweden, rates that follow the photographers' association guidance run 150 to 600 SEK for a simple product image and 15,000 to 30,000 SEK for a photographer's full day.

On-model work adds people. A European e-commerce model is typically €150 to €400 a day, with a 15 to 20 percent agency fee, and usage — where and how long the images run — is often charged at two to ten times the day rate. Then come styling, hair and makeup, the studio, and retouching per image. None of it is wasted money; it is simply the cost of putting a real crew in a real room.

04

A worked example: 40 catalogue images

Say a brand needs 40 images for a drop: 20 products, a packshot and a lifestyle shot each. At the published $50 to $350 an image, a traditional shoot comes to roughly $2,000 to $14,000 before usage terms, reshoots or rush fees.

In Misu, 40 Seedream 4.5 images at 23 tokens each is 920 tokens, about €4.60. Add ghost mannequin shots for ten garments at about €0.42 each and upscales of the ten hero images for print at about €0.14 each, and the total is still under €11 — well inside a €29 Starter month. Regenerating a shot you don't like costs the same small amount again, not another shoot day.

05

When a real shoot is still worth it

A physical shoot still makes sense when the photograph is itself the proof: a hero campaign built around one irreplaceable location, a material whose exact texture has to be documented, or press images where a named photographer is part of the story. The two work together: a real shoot for the few images that carry the season, and Misu for the catalogue, the colourways and the social volume around them.

Editing a ghost mannequin image after a shoot typically runs $2 to $12 per image, on top of the shoot itself. In Misu, the ghost mannequin edit is about 84 tokens, roughly €0.42, starting from one photo of the garment.

Can I try it before paying?

Yes. Misu is in beta, with invites approved by hand. The first 100 welcome tokens need no card; another 500 unlock when you add a payment method, checked with a one-time €1 charge.
