Director
Type what you want in plain language and the Director handles the rest: picking an approach, writing the prompt, choosing a model, and generating.
Getting started
Director has its own place in the sidebar, just under Dashboard. Open it and you get a composer and a question: what shall we create? Start from a blank prompt or one of the starters — "Editorial rooftop shot at golden hour," "Clean studio product shot on seamless white," "Moody nighttime streetwear campaign," or "Now make a 6-second video of the last shot." Attach characters and products with @ the same way you would anywhere else, and an Image/Video toggle switches what it produces.
Naming a character or product with @ does more than mention it: it locks that identity for the conversation, so every shot in the session holds the same face and the same product. The lock shows above the composer, and it stays until you change it.
Sessions
Each conversation is a session, and they persist. Past sessions sit under the composer with their newest shot, when they have one, and the approach that produced it. Open one to pick up where you left off, or start a clean one from the header. Archiving a session removes it from the grid without deleting the work — everything it generated stays in your Library.
What happens after you send a message
An Approach selector defaults to Auto, which lets the Director recognise the kind of shot you're describing and handle it accordingly, or you can pick a specific approach yourself. While it works, you'll see a short task timeline ticking through each step, followed by a badge naming the approach it used.
For most requests, it goes straight to generating. For higher-stakes formats, it stops first and shows you a plan, a short card describing what it's about to make, with an Approve & generate button. Nothing is spent until you approve, and you can also just reply with changes instead.
What a conversation costs
Talking to the Director spends credits, because a turn runs a real model: it reads your brand, picks an approach, writes and critiques a prompt, and often generates from it. Each reply says what it cost on the same line that names the model, and your balance updates as you go. Renders are billed separately, at the usual Studio rates.
Ordinary turns run on a faster, cheaper model; the Director moves to a stronger one when the plan itself is the work, such as a proposal you'll be asked to approve. A turn that fails before reaching the model is refunded.
Under the hood, briefly
The Director picks the model itself and checks its own output before showing it to you, so you don't need to make those calls yourself.
When to use Director instead of Generate
Reach for Director when you'd rather describe the outcome than assemble it, or when you're not sure which camera, lens, or model combination would get you there. Go to Generate when you want to override one specific decision, like locking a particular lens, rather than restate the whole shot.
